Scripture and iPhones. Is the Bible the same thing as Jesus Himself? By John Meyer
I love how the Bible writers have written down the nuances of the Spirit of God, where they have captured it through him. But where they have not, simply indicates where they were at in their own limited understanding and filters of religion at the time. Yes, the translators all had filters because they were human just like you and I are.
What that means is that Bible interpretation is subject to the illumination of the Spirit of God inside each and every person who reads it or translates it. Contrary to popular religious belief not everything in the Bible is to be taken literally for today. Meaning, the reader should take in the historical content, time frames, and the literal people groups that are represented throughout the Bible. It all matters greatly when trying to apply scripture to a modern day scenario or flowing through someone who teaches others as to what they believe it means.
